Letter to V.M Jones

Dear Mrs Jones

My name is Tyler. I think your book is touching and funny. I was astounded by your book. Buddy. My favourite part was when Josh described Chantel really well. When I grow up, I want to be an author like you.

You are a great author. I love writing, it is my favourite subject at school. How long did it take you to write this? Please can you give me some tips? I would love it if you could. My favourite chapters were The dream, going for gold and the end of the race.

When my class started reading this book I didn’t want to put it down. Your book inspired me to write stories with races, romance and other things too. Could you write another story about Buddy? My school is Parkvale and my class would like it if you came to our class.

Thanks Tyler

WALT Persuade

1/06/12

Dear Hastings District Council

People throw too many plastic on the ground and I want it to be picked up. So please tell Hastings do not litter.

There's plastic all over the place and Parkvale School does not like litter. We want Hastings to be as clean as possible. Also New Zealand does not like it either so I want John Key to see this too.
I’m in a group called the plastics and we have come up with some ways that we can recycle Plastic in room 20 at Parkvale school.

Rubbish is scattered throughout New Zealand and people don’t pick it up. The people who throw plastic on the ground are bad and should be charged with community service and its absolutely inappropriate.

If you see people littering tell them to stop and pick the rubbish up. They are litter bugs too.
It makes Parkvale School dissapointed.

In the ocean there is a trash vortex and it kills animals too. There is loads of rubbish there. It is silly to have a Giant pile of TRASH in the ocean. Also if we don’t pick up our rubbish we will turn Hastings into a trash vortex too and we don’t want that do we?
